How to Use Steam Workshop Maps and Collections on Your Counter Strike 2 Server

Updated March 27, 2026

Counter Strike 2 community servers can take advantage of both individual maps and full map collections from the Steam Workshop. This lets you enhance your server with community-created content and custom map rotations.

Finding a Workshop Map or Collection ID

Every Workshop map and collection has a unique numerical ID. To find it, open the item's Workshop page in your browser and look at the URL — the ID is the number at the end.

Steam Workshop URL showing the numerical map ID

For example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3539217452 — here, the ID is 3539217452.

Adding a Workshop Map or Collection

With the map or collection ID in hand, follow these steps:

  1. Open your server control panel and stop the server.
  2. Head to the Server Config tab.
  3. Paste the Workshop Map ID or Workshop Collection ID into the appropriate field.
  4. Save your changes and start the server back up.

What Happens When You Use Each?

  • Workshop Map ID:
The server will automatically load the specified map on startup, overriding the default map setting.
  • Workshop Collection ID:
The server will use all maps in the collection for its map rotation or vote system. This is perfect for running multiple Workshop maps with seamless transitions between them.
